Ontario to Increase Minimum Wage from $10.25 to $11.00 per hour
On June 1st, 2014 Ontario will raise its minimum wage from $10.25 per hour to $11.00 per hour in order to reflect the rise in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) since the last minimum wage increase in 2010.
The Ontario government also has plans to introduce new legislation which will tie future minimum wage increases to the CPI. This will ensure that future increases to the minimum wage are fair and predictable for both workers and employers, and will also ensure that the minimum wage keeps up with the cost of living.
Increases will be announced by April 1st and will come into effect on October 1st.
